About Marshmallow
We started Marshmallow when we found out how unfair insurance prices are for people who move to the UK. All because the industry hasn’t given this huge cohort of people a second’s thought, and isn’t set up to price them properly.We saw an opportunity to do things differently, so we made it our mission to back the ones who step outside the norm. Since we started, we’ve helped 100,000s of people get a fairer deal on their car insurance. Using technology, we serve people that are often overlooked by financial services companies, solving important problems for people who need it most.
We know there are millions of marginalised customers out there. And we know that they face unique problems that most companies aren’t even aware of. We believe that our future is helping these people by learning about their experiences, and building our company around their needs. And there are strong signs that there’s a need for a company like us. Earlier this year we hit profitability, which is a huge milestone, but the most exciting thing is that we’re only just getting started.

That’s why we collaborate to do in-depth planning twice a year, and make sure we leave with clear goals and objectives that flow from top to bottom. To make sure we’re as aligned as possible across functions, most of our work rolls up into four tribes; Acquisition, Retention, Claims and Pricing, Underwriting & Fraud. Each tribe has multiple teams embedded in it, working cross-functionally to do great work.

Talent Acquisition at Marshmallow
Our team’s mission is to identify, attract and onboard talented people into Marshmallow, in order to efficiently and effectively meet our ever growing business needs.We do this by always putting the customer first, namely our candidates and colleagues, to make sure everyone involved has the best experience and will become an advocate of Marshmallow as an employer of choice.
Since opening our first Budapest office in 2022, our team in Hungary has scaled to 150 people and counting! This role will be key in enabling further growth and expansion.
What you’ll be doing
-
Providing an excellent experience throughout the hiring process: keeping in regular contact with candidates and providing frequent updates
-
Partnering with Hiring Managers to find the best candidates for open roles
-
Using various channel to create talent pools / pipelines for future hiring needs

Using internal and external data to shape insights for your stakeholders, influencing how, who, and when they hire
-
Working closely with the wider People Team on initiatives such as Onboarding, Diversity & Inclusion and succession planning

Collaborating with colleagues on Talent projects such as Employer Branding, hiring efficiency, and Hiring Manager training

Running multiple hiring processes end to end, from high volume junior roles to senior and technical positions
What we’re looking for from you
-
You have worked in-house as a recruiter in a fast-growing company (tech startup/scale up is a bonus!)
-
You are a true Talent Acquisition Generalist and can turn your hand to any type of vacancy. You’re able to quickly understand core requirements and use this to build out the top of the candidate funnel

You can demonstrate innovative ways of attracting hard to find talent, including bold Employer Branding initiatives
-
You can demonstrate best in class hiring for roles across various business areas (Customer Service, Leadership, Technology, Data)
-
You will be comfortable sourcing and headhunting (mainly on Linked In Recruiter)

You have a strong understanding of the Budapest candidate market, and also show a willingness to work on UK based vacancies

Our process
We break it up into 3 stages:-
Initial call with our a Talent Acquisition Manager (30 mins)

A skill-based interview where you will discuss your previous experience with 2 members of our People Team (1 hour)

A culture interview with to check that your work style fits our processes and values (1 hour)
