CONSULTANCY NEEDED FOR MHPSS TRANSITION PROGRAM
BACKGROUND
Save the Children has been responding to emergencies and humanitarian crises around the world for 100 years, including Indonesia. One of the key components of our support for children in times of crisis is Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS). MHPSS programming provides critical support for children and family recovery after an emergency or during protracted humanitarian crisis. To meet the diverse MHPSS needs of children, families, and communities in crisis, a multi-tiered approach is necessary. Save the Children proposes to strengthen MHPSS programming with a new multi-tiered framework for comprehensive MHPSS that includes strengthening our existing approaches for structured psychosocial support programming and referrals for specialized mental health services, piloting and expanding paraprofessional counseling, and piloting and expanding MHPSS support for staff.
The MHPSS program will end in December 2024. As a transition and sustainability, the advocacy and integration of the program context into the existing system in Indonesia is required. In this regard, SCIDN recruited an external collaborator to assist the program team in formulating the program.
OBJECTIVE
OBJECTIVE
- To develop sustainability MHPSS program
- To make SCIDN's MHPSS products can be adapted/adjusted to Indonesian context and system, be part of the system in education and health government and school, and more widely used.
DELIVERABLE
- Advocacy guideline/strategy to the education office for program sustainability and integration into the education system: advocacy sustainability workshop/FGD and desk review & program sustainability recommendations (HEART, SPARC, referral system)
- Proposal for next MHPSS program based on the existing activities that have been implemented.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Have experience in MHPSS, especially in the primary and secondary education system for 5 years.
- Have experience in mental health referral system in primary and secondary education system for 5 years.
- Have capacity building experience for teachers and paraprofessional counseling for 5 years.
- Have experience in MHPSS advocacy to government
- Have experience in developing proposal and modul
