Director of Program Development & Impact

Job Title : Director of Program Development & Impact
Location : Indonesia - Jakarta Based
Child Safeguarding : Level 3 - the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g., four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work on country program; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
Role Purpose :
Yayasan Save the Children Indonesia is changing for the better. We’ve begun to build a national organization that aims to be a strong, local, and self-sustaining voice for children in Indonesia. To this end, SC Indonesia has been designated as an “Associate Member” . As ‘Associate Member’ Indonesia has been identified as part of the next way of new member development, which focuses on strengthening and localizing our voice for children in strategic middle-income countries. Indonesia has been authorized by member ballot to start fundraising locally as a first step towards building a financially sustainable local organization. Future work will also involve developing a strong local governance structure and building key partnerships with local government, the private sector, local civil society among others. Success of the pilot phase will set Indonesia on a pathway to full membership.
The Director of Program Development & Impact shares in the overall responsibility for the leadership, strategic vision and direction of the Yayasan Save the Children Indonesia National office. The PD&I in his/her capacity is responsible for overseeing and ensuring strategic development of high quality, evidence based, innovative programs, in all settings and contexts, that deliver immediate and lasting change for children and contribute to Save the Children’s global breakthroughs; leading the development and implementation of the Country Strategic Plan (CSP); ensuring robust learning and knowledge management processes are in place; and coordinating external representation. The role will lead on provision of technical inputs to ensure achievement of advocacy goals at sub-national and national levels. The role will also lead on revenue generation and increasing the country’s funding portfolio in line with the CSP, through leading on program design and development of funding proposals. One of the key aspects of the role is ensuring capacity building, mentoring and coaching of head of thematics, technical advisors, and technical expertise talent pool in order to build technical excellence and ensure a strong Program Impact and Creation (PIC) department.
The PD&I plays a crucial leadership role in the Indonesia Programme and operates in a challenging role within a complex environment requiring a dedicated, experienced and highly motivated leader who can operate in a high profile, rapidly transitioning environment. The PD-D leads a team who deliver on the key areas of accountability through their leadership, collaboration, coordination and support to all country office teams. The post holder will work very closely with multiple internal stakeholders including Research Evidence and Learning, Program Implementation, Resource Mobilization, Humanitarian, Advocacy Campaigns Communication Marketing (ACCM) teams in raising the profile of Save the Children in Indonesia on the following area:

- Strategic Planning: will work closely with CEO, Chiefs, and other Directors, and will contribute to HR (Childsafeguarding), Risk and Finance
- Technical Excellence in Programming: will work closely with HR, Chief of Program Impact Creation and ACCM.
- Program Design and Technical Assistance: will work closely with Humanitarian, Area Managers, Chief of Program Impact Creation and Advocacy Director, HR (Childsafeguarding), Finance and will contribute to Risk.
- Research, Evidence and Learning: will work closely with Director of Research, Evidence and Learning, Chief of ACCM and Chief of Program Implementation and will contribute to HR on setting up technical competencies, communications and fundraising.
- Program Development : will work closely with CEO, Resource Mobilization Unit, Finance, ACCM, and will contribute to Risk.
- Fundraising: will work closely with CEO, Finance, Resource Mobilization Unit, Area Managers and Chief of Program Impact Creation.
