The Role
Customer Operations develop, deliver, and support excellent customer experience and service to both domestic and non-domestic customers within a regulated industry. Customer Operations is responsible for managing the customer relationship with the Customer Contact Centre, ensuring timely and accurate customer billing services and effectively implementing the Uisce Éireann customer strategy.
Connections and Developer Services (CDS) are responsible for the customer engagement and stakeholder relationship management of all connections to the Uisce Éireann network. The CDS team manage the customer journey from development concept design, statutory planning process, pre-connection, technical design, site quality assurance, vesting of new asset and final connection and metering, including developing commercial/technical customer agreements, and managing customer funding in adherence to all technical standards, connection charging policy and governance requirements. CDS are responsible for delivering a highly effective customer service, including reviewing, and implementing solutions to meet changing customer needs. Collaboration with several key business partners is essential for the successful delivery of connections on behalf of the customer.
Reporting to the Head of Customer Operations, the CDS Services Senior Manager will report directly to the Head of Customer Operations and manage the services function to support the end-to-end connections delivery process. The CDS function will have both a central and regional presence.


Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the services function to support end to end connections delivery process, ensuring that Uisce Éireann serves customers and supports economic development in a timely and efficient way
  • Responsible for providing excellent customer experience through end-to-end connections process
  • Lead a culture of collaboration to improve the customer experience by interacting at a senior level across the business and acting as an advocate for customers and developers at all stages of the customer journey
  • Drive the development of CDS national strategies, policies, and standards within Uisce Éireann and with internal and external stakeholders and ensure adherence to the correct application of policies and commercial terms within Connections and Developer Services
  • Act as the primary interface with key stakeholders including government departments, and committees
  • Responsible for preparation and issue of all external reports on CDS and housing, ensuring timely efficient preparation andapproval -
  • Responsible for internal and external governance associated with CDS and government driven housing initiatives
  • Manage the commercial, processes and customer liaison functions of the end-to-end connections journey, ensuring that Uisce Éireann serves customers and supports economic development and ensure that Uisce Eireann policies are aligned with national and regional planning projects and locally agreed commitments, consistent with Uisce Éireann Connections Charging policy
  • Build and manage excellent working relationships to support the delivery of housing across the country
  • Build and manage excellent working relationships with large developers, commercial and industrial customers, maintaining excellent customer service and continuous support to provide a smooth journey for larger and more complex projects through the connections process
  • Manage escalation of customer enquiries, complaints and conflict resolution between the customer or developer, CDS and the various internal Uisce Éireann stakeholders, including those who have been escalated from the CDS Developer Liaison Specialists
  • Manage and build strategic relationships with key external stakeholders, e.g., CRU, CIF, IHBA IDA, LDA, Enterprise Ireland, and Government departments
  • Work closely with Regulation team to maintain an excellent working relationship with the CRU and in the evolution of the Uisce Éireann Connections Charging Policy and the associated commercial revenue model
  • Lead commercial negotiations on non-standard contracts while ensuring consistency with the Connections Charging Policy
  • Develop and shape future policy and processes to service growth developments including such areas as Strategic Development Zones (SDZ) through collaborative working relationships with the CRU, An Bord Pleanála, LA Planning departments and DHLGH
  • Monitor Development pressures and feedback from early develop enquiries, to inform Asset Management of capacity constraints for forward planning purposes
  • Responsbile for full reporting including Balanced Scorecard KPIs and Risk on all areas of CDS
  • Lead on the proposal and implementation of portfolio project and enhancements to ensure customer service within CDS
  • Proactively identify and drive improvements in the CDS function
  • Oversee and promote the development of process improvement opportunities, associated initiatives and solutions using principles of process excellence and related tools in accordance with CDS business requirements
  • Raise risks and issues as appropriate to the Head of Customer Operations

General Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
  • Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
  • Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
  • Provide visible leadership for your team, coaching and developing them to achieve their full potential and deliver business objectives, promoting collaboration and highlighting the behaviours that are expected from everyone in the team.
  • Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable and or relevant experience
  • A minimum of 10 plus years’ experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable
  • Along with 3+ years working at a senior manager level
  • Excellent leadership and change & transformation experience ideally in a similar utility, regulated industry or multi stakeholder environment
  • Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions and ambiguity generating effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented
  • Can quickly establish credibility and respect and build strong working relationships
  • Stakeholder management and the ability to interact and influence effectively at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Excellent communicator with the capability to handle complex and difficult situations with the thought and confidence
  • Strong negotiations skills with win/win mindset
  • Financially and commercially astute
  • Experience of supporting policies, systems and controls and driving the implementation of progressive policies

An Ról:
Déanann na h Oibríochtaí Custaiméirí eispéireas agus seirbhís custaiméirí den scoth a fhorbairt agus a sholáthar do chustaiméirí tí agus do chustaiméirí tráchtála araon laistigh de thionscal rialaithe agus tacaíonn siad leo. Tá sé ríthábhachtach go ndéantar comhoibriú le roinnt príomh-chomhpháirtithe gnó le haghaidh naisc a sholáthar go rathúil thar ceann an chustaiméara.
Ag tuairisciú dó nó di do Cheann na n Oibríochtaí Custaiméirí, tuairisceoidh an Bainisteoir Sinsearach Seirbhísí CDS go díreach do Cheann na n Oibríochtaí Custaiméirí agus bainisteoidh sé nó sí feidhm na seirbhísí chun tacú leis an bpróiseas seachadta nasc ceann go ceann. Beidh láithreacht lárnach agus réigiúnach ag an bhfeidhm CDS.
