Job Title: Civil Engineering Estimator
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Position Overview: The Civil Engineering Estimator will be integral to the project planning and execution process. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of experience in cost estimation, sub-contractor management, and overseeing day-to-day operations on-site. This role is ideal for a professional with a solid background in civil engineering and a keen interest in project management.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to establish detailed project scopes.
Negotiate with sub-contractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
Monitor project costs and progress, ensuring adherence to the budget and schedule.
Support the preparation of tender documents and participate in contract negotiations.
Conduct site visits and assessments to gather essential information for estimates.
Manage sub-contractors on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications and timelines.
Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure a smooth workflow and address any issues that arise.
Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering estimation.
At least 2 years of experience managing sub-contractors on-site and handling day-to-day operations.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and cost estimation techniques.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Auto CAD, Microsoft Office Suite, estimating software).
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
