Job Description:
Job Title: Clinical Nurse Manager / Unit Manager
Location: Nazareth House Mallow, Dromore, Mallow, Co. Cork
Reporting to: Director of Nursing.
Job Purpose: The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating various clinical and administrative functions within the healthcare setting. The role involves managing key healthcare systems, ensuring efficient use of audit and quality management tools, roster management, and electronic medication administration. The Clinical Nurse Manager plays a pivotal role in optimizing patient care and improving operational efficiency through project management and administrative oversight.
Main Responsibilities:

• Project Management:
• Lead and manage healthcare projects, particularly focusing on the implementation and optimization of clinical and administrative systems.
• Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in line with organizational objectives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth transitions and integration of new systems.
• Audit & Quality Management System (Vi Clarity):
• Oversee the use of the ‘Vi Clarity’ Audit & Quality Management system to monitor and evaluate healthcare quality standards.
• Ensure that all clinical audit processes are followed, and quality improvement initiatives are implemented.
• Support staff in understanding and utilizing the system for effective reporting and compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Roster Management (Soft Works):
• Manage the ‘Soft Works’ roster management system to ensure the effective scheduling of staff, aligning with both patient needs and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure that the roster system is used effectively to minimize gaps in staffing and improve workforce management.
• Electronic Medication Administration (Nova Enursing EMAR):
• Oversee the ‘Nova Enursing EMAR’ system to ensure accurate and efficient medication administration.
• Monitor compliance with medication administration protocols and safety standards.
• Provide guidance and support to nursing staff in using the electronic medication administration system to improve patient safety and reduce errors.
• Administrative Support:
• Provide administrative support to the nursing and management teams by maintaining accurate records, generating reports, and assisting with day-to-day operations.
• Ensure proper documentation of all clinical and project-related activities in compliance with healthcare policies and procedures.
• Facilitate communication between staff, management, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow.

Essential Skills, Competencies and or Knowledge:
· Minimum 3 years Nursing Home Experience
· Previous CNM or senior nurse role desirable

• Registered Nurse with a valid nursing license.
• Strong experience in project management within a healthcare environment.
• Proficiency in IT systems and software relevant to healthcare administration.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong understanding of healthcare quality standards and compliance.

Preferred Skills:

• Prior experience in clinical audits, quality management, and electronic medication systems.
• Certification in project management or healthcare administration is an advantage.
