IRFU Logistics Manager

The IRFU are inviting applications for IRFU Logistics Manager.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic forward-thinking leader with a passion for supporting all of our teams, stakeholders and staff in the distribution and management of kit and apparel. The role will involve liaising with IRFU partners and suppliers in the ordering, storage and distribution of kit, apparel and equipment, and the management of IRFU stock, warehouse facilities and staff members (currently based in Naas, Co. Kildare). The successful candidate will also be responsible for the storage and distribution of IRFU equipment and supplies across Ireland and internationally, and the management of stock control systems and reporting to relevant IRFU departments.
The position is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis. The role will be based at our Warehouse Facilities, M7 Business Park, Newhall, Naas, County Kildare.
The closing date for applications is strictly 4pm 30th October 2024.
Interviews are expected to take place on 6th November 2024.

Role and Purpose of Position:

Key Qualities:Essential:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehouse operations
Result orientated, forward planning with the ability to forecast the business need delivering to established deadlines within budget.
Excellent organisational, administration and planning skills
Highly motivated efficient self-starter
Excellent decision making/problem solving and managerial skills
Managing and supporting staff
Fluent written and spoken English
Proactive, positive and helpful manner
Experience of the implementation of stock controls systems and reporting
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Implementation and close monitoring of strict budget and accountancy procedures
Warehouse operations and safety
Strong IT Skills including Microsoft Office suite literacy
Desirable:
Degree in logistics, supply chain management or related field
Previous sports industry experiences advantages but not essential
Key Qualities:
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with sponsors, contractors and stakeholders
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with staff within the logistics dept promoting an encouraging working environment, supporting staff members continual professional development and their growth within the organisation
Develop and maintain a harmonious working relationship with staff members from different departments within the organisation
Engage and work with IRFU departments and stakeholders to assess and forecast the business need within budget both seasonally and annually
Oversee the process of deliveries, inspection of goods and ensure documentation is accurate appropriate and meets declaration standards
Distribute kit and apparel to National Teams and IRFU Stakeholders per agreed timelines within Ireland and worldwide as per team schedules
Ensure the safety of staff and safe handling of equipment, supplies and apparel in/out of the warehouse at all times
Prepare annual budgets with departments and manage sponsorship allowances per team
Manage stock ordering levels with sponsors and suppliers to ensure teams and stakeholders have the required items within budget in sufficient time prior to camps and tournaments to established deadlines
Implementation, management and adherence to stock control procedures
Produce weekly/monthly reports as required by the Director of Operations
Organisation, distribution and collection of training equipment to teams as indicated by the Operations Department both nationally and internationally
Ensure asset tagging procedures are implemented and complied with by all members of the department
Maintain an accurate running inventory of supplies and equipment
Adhere to best procurement policies and practice as per IRFU procurement policies
Management and allocation of IRFU warehouse vehicles to members of staff within the organisation. Maintain a good working relationship with vehicle provider
Ensure safe and effective storage and utilisation of the IRFU warehouses for the storage of kit, supplies and equipment
Manage all IRFU freight shipments, maintaining accurate manifests, ensuring customs compliance in a cost-effective manner with accurate internal reporting
Ensure that the warehouses are kept clean, safe and maintained appropriately
Ensure strict inventory control procedures are adhered to
Ensure that Health and Safety matters are a key priority and managed appropriately with required training provided to staff as required
Any duties allocated by the IRFU
Travel abroad to support National Teams as assigned
Performance Measures:
Strong knowledge of warehouse management
Excellent communication skills
Develop and maintain effective relationships with Sponsors and Suppliers
Strict adherence to allocated budgets and ensure best practice in accordance with IRFU procurement policy
Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
Effective distribution of kit/apparel and adherence to strict timelines
Effective management and compliance of health and safety policies at all times at IRFU facilities
The successful candidate must be eligible to live and work in Ireland.
