Our new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny, opening in 2024, reflects the growing demand for Abbott's global Diabetes Care products. The facility will be a centre for world-class engineering, quality, medical device manufacturing, and other science-based professionals to produce life-changing technologies that enable people with diabetes to live the best and fullest lives they can. Responsibilities

• Operates production and/or test equipment.
  
• Completes daily work to meet established schedule with guidance from supervisor.
  
• Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), standard operating procedures, and applicable safety rules.
  
• Ensure tools and equipment are set up and operated per procedures.
  
• Records production information on approved document or electronic system.
  
• Performs basic troubleshooting on operation issues before escalating to supervisor and support team.
  
• May perform product testing and release.
  
• May assist in executing validation protocols.
  
• Ensures safe work practices and follows behavioural based safety guidelines at all times while on site.
  
• Carries out training of new employees as appropriate.
  
• Support continuous improvement by generating ideas and assisting in projects where needed.
  
• Maintain adequate stocks of operating supplies and consumables within production area as appropriate
  
• Perform all duties as assigned by supervisor.
  

Education and Qualification

• Level 5 qualification per the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) or a pass rating in an Aptitude Test selected by Abbott Diabetes Care.
  
• Relevant work experience advantageous but not essential or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  
• Excellent communication / interpersonal skills.
  
• Enthusiastic and energetic with the ability to integrate quickly into a team environment.
  
• Demonstrated flexible and innovative approach to work.
  
• Comfortable working with computers.
