We are seeking a talented and creative Product Designer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of retail products, excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers, and a flair for branding. You will play a key role in developing innovative product designs that resonate with our target audience and enhance our brand identity.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Design: Conceptualize and create innovative product designs that align with market trends and consumer needs.
Design Execution: Develop detailed packaging designs from scratch, including structural and graphic elements.
Barcode Integration: Design and incorporate barcodes and other necessary labeling into packaging layouts.
Image Sourcing and Creation: Collaborate with photographers and illustrators to source or create high-quality images for packaging.
Specification Documentation: Prepare detailed packaging specifications, including materials, dimensions, and production processes.
Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and production teams to ensure packaging designs meet functional and aesthetic requirements.
Quality Control: Review prototypes and final products to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with packaging trends and best practices to ensure designs are competitive and innovative.
- Supplier Liaison: Collaborate effectively with suppliers to ensure design feasibility, quality, and timely production. Facilitate clear communication between teams to resolve any issues that arise.
- Branding: Develop and maintain a cohesive brand identity across product lines, ensuring that all designs reflect our brand values and aesthetics.
- Market Research: Conduct research on market trends, competitor products, and consumer preferences to inform design decisions.
- Prototyping: Create sketches, 3D models, and prototypes to visualize and present design concepts.
- Feedback Implementation: Gather and incorporate feedback from stakeholders, customers, and team members to refine and enhance product designs.
- Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience in product design, particularly in the retail sector.
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and supply chain management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your design work and branding expertise.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CAD programs).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for innovation.
