Product Evaluation Technician

Our Product Evaluation Technicians travel regularly to test facilities. They plan and coordinate all Product Evaluation Schedules with the R&D Managers for Switchgear and Busbar, maintain detailed records of test results and up to date Product Standards.
The role
- Record keeping & documentation; Creation of temperature rise reports. MS Word/Publisher.
- Temperature rise testing and use of current injection units. Training on operation provided.
- Setting up of Switchgear, Busbar and Tap off Unit test apparatus.
- Selection of ingoing connections and outgoing star point cable/copper sizes based on Table 11 & 12 of IEC61439.
- Gain an understanding of temperature rise limits based on Table 6 of IEC61439 and the terminal temperature limits stated by device manufacturers such as ABB & Schneider.
- Organizing test connection parts with Copper Department.
- Setting up Datataker Record sheets (excel based)
- Application of thermocouples
- Ideally 3 rd level Engineering Qualification /Degree / HLA or equivalent
- Fully familiar and regular use of MS Office Packages.
- Well organised and efficient
- An eye for detail - you will maintain calibration certs for all test equipment and ensure training is up to date.
