We are seeking to recruit an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join the QA Department at Newbridge Foods.

Requirements of the job would be:
Background in Quality Control/Quality Assurance or similar background within the food industry.
Degree qualified in Food Science or related field would be necessary.

Main outline of the role:
Monitor the production and packing lines prior to production commencing each day and during the day.
Particular attention will be given to the hygiene and quality aspects of the equipment and facilities at each stage of production through to finished product being produced. Work with the Cleaning and QA managers to manage this successfully.
You must ensure that the quality and safety of the product is not being compromised at any stage.
Manage the microbiological and chemical testing plan of the site including organising the micro and chemical sample collection of swabs, raw materials, finished products, shelf-life etc. and liaising with an external laboratory regarding testing and results.
Where non-conformity occurs, work proactively by investigating the root cause of the issue, implement corrective/ preventative actions if necessary and carry out retest(s) where appropriate in a timely manner in order to close out the non-conformity.
You must have a hands-on approach and be capable of working on your own initiative and be capable of dealing with, and addressing issues as they arise.
Assist in training of staff and management in relevant procedures and courses using paperless training program.
Finished products are to be retained for microbiological analysis and shelf life testing and which Bain-maire checks are also to be carried out when required.
To conduct internal audits, factory hygiene and preventative maintenance audits, traceability and mass balance exercises as part of the quality management system are carried out to a set rota and are shared out amongst the quality team.
Attention to detail is essential in both record keeping and QC production line monitoring and all other functions assigned to you. You must have good communication skills and be computer literate.
Product development may form part of the role from time to time. Records of this must be completed, maintained and kept on-file.
You will be expected to be flexible in your role as QA Technician, and you will be required to cover other duties in the absence of a fellow team member or when called upon.
Must have:

• Candidates must be currently residing in Ireland, have permission to work in Ireland and a fluency in English. In addition should be living within 1 hour commute of the factory.
• Given the nature of the work, this role is fully on site.

Hours of work:
Monday: 8am to 4.00pm
Tuesday, Wed, Thu: 6am to 2.00pm
Friday: 6am to 1pm
Very occasional Saturdays may be required to cover on a rotation basis if production is running. Hours of work would be approx. 8am to 12:30pm.
