Tour Guide "storyteller"

Role: Responsible for (and not limited to) the delivery of a national advocacy programme run through Pearse Lyons Distillery, coordinating whiskey and gin school experiences with the management team to ensure brand awareness and strategic brand advocacy.
As a Pearse Lyons Distillery ambassador, you will be the leading expert on the Pearse Lyons Distillery brand and its spirits. You will embody and represent the brand image and values externally and internally. You will be the visible face of the brand in consumer and trade media. You will collaborate closely with the marketing and management team to increase the awareness of our brand with key influencers (e.g. bartenders) in the strategic On-Trade channel and with key customers (distributors, sales) in Off-Trade. Your deep knowledge of Pearse Lyons Distillery products, along with the heritage of company, will allow you to succeed in this role as you communicate and influence people. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
· As the visible face of the brand in consumer and trade media you will represent the brand at key trade events, tradeshows, etc.
· Lead the development and execution of advocacy programming through our distillery schools and other trade events
· You will develop relationships with key stakeholders in the On-Trade channel (i.e. Bartenders and Bar Owners) and also OFF-Trade (distributors, retailers, sales) and influence the positioning of Pearse Lyons Distillery products
· You will act as the in-house expert and will support the management and marketing on channel strategy and plans
· You will develop and drive brand training programs for the team, local brand and trade ambassadors
This role is varied and will be based in Pearse Lyons Distillery, Dublin. The role will require interacting with the key influencers across many platforms, events and tradeshows. As a result, you may be required to travel.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
Drive results and excellence in execution
  • Embodies and represents the Pearse Lyons Distillery brand and its values in key trade/consumer events and shows
  • Builds and deploys Brand/Category training programs for whiskey and gin school
  • Trains and mentors local brand ambassadors on brands, categories and trends
Develop talent and capability
  • Together with management, sales and marketing, own and embed the advocacy capabilities to build the organisation's capacity to deliver year on year value growth
  • Build a learning organisation by creating a “share, steal and reapply” culture that systematically builds a database of brand advocacy best practices
  • Provide sales and marketing teams with brand/category expertise and advise to enable an effective commercialisation of category strategies and initiatives

  • Contribute to a shared sense of purpose across the team
  • Recognise accomplishments and behaviours in a timely manner
  • Have a deep knowledge of Pearse Lyons Distillery, it’s history and culture
Measures of success
  • Performance: Deliver target number of trade shows, trainings, and consumer/trade events
  • Commercial scorecard: Achieve advocacy goals defined in KPI’s set with management of Pearse Lyons Distillery
  • Employee capabilities: Improve and development members of the team through upskilling and training
Critical experiences for success
To be successful in this role you will have/be:
  • 4-8 years of experience in spirits, mixology, whiskey and gin industries
  • Experience in recognised top high-end mixology accounts
  • Experience as an ambassador or trainer for key accounts
  • Experience and proven track record in a customer experience role in the hospitability business
  • Superb presentation skills for effective communication and influencing skills – storyteller
  • Drink strategy development for whiskey/gin category
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Proficiency in English
The following experiences are preferred:
  • Experience in the whiskey/gin category and/or beverage industry (at a globally relevant brand)
  • Experience in traditional and social media
  • Connected within the spirits industry within Ireland and abroad
  • Third level qualification in tourism or hospitality management
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From €13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
