Cognizant Américas, Delivery Center Head
At Cognizant, the Americas market is $15 Billion within the Global Commercial Business supported. As part of our global delivery network, our clients use a combination of on-shore (i.e., client site, on-shore delivery center, or remote), near-shore, and off-shore delivery resources. Today, we have 45,000 delivery associates working across Americas. US clients are increasingly turning to Canada and Latin America (LATAM) for near-shore services for their growing Technology and BPO demand. The hybrid (remote) work model, along with access to talent, cultural familiarity, time-zone alignment, reasonable legal standards, and government support, have made Canada and LATAM very attractive for services. Our Fortune 500 clients across all industries have a growing need to leverage our capabilities from our near-shore operations.
Role Responsibilities:
The Americas Delivery Center Head will have responsibility for managing and growing our US On-shore Delivery Centers (ODCs), as well as, our Remote Delivery Centers (RDCs) in Canada and LATAM. The Delivery Center Head will build best practices for effective delivery operations, forge partnerships with local governments and top universities, recruit effectively in the local markets, build our brand for clients, associates and recruits, and ensure our policies and cost structure are competitive. The executive will report to the President & EVP of America, and will be responsible for the following:
Build strategy for growth, effective delivery, and optimized cost:
Ø Plan, execute, and manage the ODCs and RDCs across the Americas
Ø Ensure timely staffing and hiring from the Service Lines
Ø Deliver high quality services and strong customer satisfaction
Ø Achievement of the cost targets identified for the Americas business
Ø Collaborate with Market Business Unit (BU) Commercial leaders (BU Head, SBU Heads, Client Partners) to support and enable the operations and delivery for the identified anchor clients.
Ø Collaborate with Service Lines and Delivery leadership to ensure timely staffing, and to develop and scale competencies aligned to the core service offerings and industry solutions
Ø Collaborate with Real Estate leadership for delivery Center expansion and Return to Office requirements
Ø Provide inputs (where relevant) for building a go-to-market strategy for selling Cognizant services in Country, along with other Geo/Center Leaders in the Americas
Ø Develop a Branding/Marketing plan strengthen our branding to attract both clients and talent
Ø Oversee day-to-day running and operations of the ODCs and RDCs with the Operations & Support teams.
Ø Prepare country budget, manage P&L and associated components like utilization, expenditure, investments, etc. as per Center budget.
Ø Report on Center status and health (financials, delivery, stability).
Ø Oversee and work together with all local and global Corporate Support Functions that support the local operations across the various countries
Other Responsibilities:
Ø Provide critical country leadership and serve as country operations head
Ø Represent Cognizant with Local Government and Agencies
Ø Represent Cognizant with Media and Analysts - handle questions, comments, or inquiries.
Ø Manage Cognizant global partners in country
Ø Support and host client visits across Americas ODCs and RDCs
Qualifications and Experience:
Ø Must have an overall experience 20+ years.
Ø Must have a solid understanding of Service Center & Business Process Outsourcing business. Needs to have worked in Service Delivery, if possible, in Business Process / IT Outsourcing environment.
Ø Must have financial knowledge and understanding of cost & pricing structure, been able to advice on Employee Comp Matrix and Comp-and-Benefit structures and changes. Update FP&A team as appropriate.
Ø Must have experience in managing and driving the delivery and operations growth strategy for a multinational services company.
Ø Must have experience in delivering complex deals in the context of a global delivery model. Experience in leading a multi-faceted Delivery Centre business will be preferred.
Ø Must have deep understanding of nearshore services, particularly Canada and LATAM, as well as offshore operations.
Ø Other functional knowledge and experience in areas like IT Infrastructure Support, Application Management & Support, Finance & Accounting, Order Management, etc. and overall Service Desk delivery would complement the management skills.
Ø Ability to lead a diverse team and operate effectively in a matrix structure.
Ø Demonstrated ability to build, communicate and execute business and operations strategies.
Ø Should have experience in growing teams (ramp-up) and managing the overall infra and support along with the growth.
Ø Should be able to work well with Recruitment to get correct talent within each of the markets in Americas.
Ø Fluent English is a must.
Education:
BSc/BA required; MSc/MBA degree preferred.
Location: United States
The annual salary for this position is between $350,000 - $400,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
