Embedded Software Engineer

Role Overview:
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will design and implement multi-threaded Object-Oriented Software in C++ to solve complex problems related to high-speed data processing and networking. You will collaborate with hardware designers and contribute to various stages of software development, including firmware build systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable software modules using modern C++ design patterns
- Develop Linux device drivers using C programming
- Identify and improve low-level system performance issues
- Create algorithms for controlling image acquisition and environmental conditions
- Collaborate with hardware teams for board bring-up and debugging
- Maintain and improve firmware build systems using Make and Python
- Review peer code for compliance with standards
- Estimate time and effort for implementation tasks
- Work with Quality Assurance to identify test cases for new features
- Mentor and coach junior developers
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electronics and Electrical
- 5+ years of embedded development experience (3+ years for junior positions)
- Strong skills in C and C++ for embedded applications
- Understanding of operating system concepts (processes, threads, mutexes, etc.)
- Experience with debugging tools and scripting languages
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Development experience in a Linux environment for ARM processors
- Knowledge of low-level programming for hardware peripherals and drivers
- Familiarity with embedded design considerations, including memory management and microprocessor architectures
- Knowledge of digital imaging, audio, and video coding is a plus
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM11,000.00 per month
