GIS Software Developer (Ara Damansara)

Dear candidate, please read the below information regarding the position.
Position: GIS Software Developer/Engineer
Location: Ara Damansara, PJ
Responsibilities:
  • Database Management: Create and maintain Postgres geodatabase models.
  • Spatial Data Analysis: Analyze spatial data using mapping software.
  • Map Design: Design digital maps incorporating geographic and other data sources.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Produce reports and data visualizations of geographic data for demonstration purposes.
  • Library Management: Manage a digital library of geographic maps in various file types for demonstration purposes.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a team to develop GIS solutions.
  • Sales Support: Collaborate closely with the sales team to gather user information and provide technical assistance.
  • Implementation Support: Provide GIS technical assistance during the implementation stage.
  • Troubleshooting: Assist end users with troubleshooting issues and report to the principal for further assistance if needed.
  • Event Participation: Participate in principal-organized events such as product launches, training sessions, and hands-on workshops.
  • In-house Events: Assist in organizing and supporting in-house events from a technical perspective.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • GIS certifications such as GISP (Geographic Information Systems Professional) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a similar industry or with multinational clients.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Postgres and geodatabase management.
  • Strong knowledge of GIS software (e.g., Arc GIS, QGIS).
  • Experience with spatial data analysis and digital map design.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Customer-oriented with strong service and troubleshooting skills.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to participate in external and in-house events.
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs and processes.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or SQL is an added advantage.
Remuneration packages:
Basic starting: RM 3, 500 - RM 6,000 (Can go higher depending on years of experiences)
EPF, SOCSO, EIS, Bonus
Benefit:
  • Will be discuss during interviews
  • Share option for all staff after 1 year of service, if performance is good. Otherwise, will evaluate again after another year. Upon exit, can cash out.
  • Working Days: 5 days; work week
  • Working Hours: 9am to 6pm (Mon to Fri)
