Our Finance department is a fundamental part of Doctor Anywhere and plays a major role in ensuring the company's financial stability. We are responsible for advising management on financial decisions that have a far-reaching impact on the company's future.

About the role
We are seeking an Assistant Manager, Finance to provide accounting and finance support to the company.

The ideal candidate will have a mindset of continuous improvement and change and will demonstrate curiosity, collaboration and the ability to deal with ambiguity especially in a start-up environment. You are passionate about learning new processes, keen to interact with multiple stakeholders, and take ownership for work delivered.

This role is based in Malaysia and reports directly to the Head of Shared Services and supports the Singapore Finance Team.

A summary of the key responsibilities are as follows

Ensure that timelines and quality meet the agreed service levels and targets.

Manage a team of direct reports, to develop their skills both individually and as a team so that they can provide quality works and services, this will include the induction, appraisal, development trainings and performance management of team members.
Providing leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; creating and promoting a positive and supportive work environment

Review day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts receivable and account payables duties
Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, revenue recognition, taxes, financial closing, and reporting
Working with key internal stakeholders in providing analysis on any deviations with actual financials
Actively review, formulate and enforce continuous improvement on financial and operations internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Keep abreast of local accounting and taxation regulations to provide support where necessary

Any other ad-hoc duties as required or assigned

About You

Bachelor’s Degree or professional accounting with at least 7-10 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably 3-5 years of prior working experience in audit firm(s).

Great analytical and interpersonal skills, with keen attention to detail and the bigger picture in mind
Able to drive changes and with continuous improvement mentality
Genuine curiosity and strong desire to continuously learn and grow
Proficient in oral and written English and Malay language. Additional languages are an added bonus.
A start-up attitude - you take full ownership of things that you do, willing to go out of your comfort zones and take on new challenges.
Comfortable with ambiguity and flexible to learn new things - we’re not done growing, and heading into uncharted territories is part of the fun!
