WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for a Brand Protection Specialist, Authentication/Innovation.

This role supports Nike Brand Protection and Intellectual Property in the field of anti counterfeiting work by performing product authentication, reporting, and analysis .

The candidate needs to have organization skills, legal Intellectual Property knowledge, court mechanisms knowledge cross jurisdictions, international trademark process registration knowledge, customs enforcement knowledge, in-design and abode pro sufficiency. Also, the candidate must be analytical , organized, willing to work on short deadlines, and be flexible with last minute travel.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

• Examining product to establish if it is authentic or counterfeit
• Replying to Law Enforcement Agency requests in relation to product authentication
• Producing statements/affidavits in relation to product authentication
• Appearing in court to testify in relation to product authentication
• Working closely with Brand Protection Managers, the BP/IP Legal Team and Outside Counsel in relation to BP/IP litigation cases
• Maintaining data bases ensuring accurate recording of intelligence, seizures etc.
• Producing training material and upskilling BP Managers in relation to product authentication
• Producing material on product authentication that BP Managers can use to train Customs and Law Enforcement Officers
• creating the impact report
• creating different business reports and evaluation about global trends in regards of Intellectual Property infringement.
• Creating and coordinating of materials to support judges and Prosecutors IP knowledge under the banner of the European Sports Federation.

If this is you, you'll be working within the Legal department different teams, partnering with litigation, trademark, design , supply chain, governmental affairs, as well NIKE business teams such as product developers, inventory, customs, and supply chain. You will perform product information research, create training materials for brand protection colleagues across the globe, use authentication expertise to identify genuine from counterfeited products and packaging. You will become the go to person for product knowledge for team members and investigators. You will also support analytical reporting support to your teammates.

A typical day/week looks like managing multiple requests for product authentication, writing statements in support of litigation or for law enforcement, examining data for trends, and providing reports.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will work with and report to the Brand Protection Authentication and Innovation team based in Hilversum, the Netherlands, which reports up to a Global Director based in Nike WHQ, as part of a global team.

Brand Protection team is part of the Office of the General Counsel ( legal department).

You will work closely with in country brand protection managers throughout EMEA, the Intellectual Property litigation team and all teams within the Office of the General Counsel (legal team). Our business partners are the different product engines within NIKE as well as marketplace and logistics team from Nike and Converse.

WHAT YOU BRING

Proven experience in a legal environment, knowledge in brand protection and intellectual property. Must be familiar with and capable of managing legal documents.

Accuracy and efficient drafting of legal documents

High efficient written communication

Coordination & attention to detail

Managing caseloads

Knowledge in law firm billing will be an additional quality

Report creation for leadership

Paralegal background will be welcome.

Microsoft office package expertise _ EXCEL expert will be appreciated
