What does the job include?
The Chief Steward is responsible for managing and overseeing all operations within the Stewarding Department, ensuring that all kitchen equipment, utensils, and areas are clean and properly maintained. The role involves leading a team of stewards to achieve high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in compliance with food safety regulations. Additionally, the Chief Steward works closely with the kitchen and food & beverage teams to ensure smooth operation and the availability of necessary equipment.

What does the job include?
The Chief Steward is responsible for managing and overseeing all operations within the Stewarding Department, ensuring that all kitchen equipment, utensils, and areas are clean and properly maintained. The role involves leading a team of stewards to achieve high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in compliance with food safety regulations. Additionally, the Chief Steward works closely with the kitchen and food & beverage teams to ensure smooth operation and the availability of necessary equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proven experience as a Chief Steward or similar role in a hotel, resort, or restaurant environment.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment, sanitation practices, and health & safety regulations.
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of HACCP, ISO, and other relevant food safety standards.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and reporting.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed..
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar position,
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, and holidays.
- Physically demanding role; ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time.
