During this assignment you will conduct an in-depth analysis of the warehouse platform, focusing on evaluating and categorizing existing micro-services based on functionality, interdependencies, and their role within the
platform.
The findings will help refine our architectural understanding,
contribute to improved system documentation and makes it
easier for our teams to work on various micro-services.

Our department, the Warehouse Execution System development stream, specializes in the development of advanced Warehouse Execution Systems (WES) designed to optimize and streamline warehouse operations. We focus on creating innovative solutions that enhance inventory management, improve order fulfillment efficiency, and ensure seamless integration with existing warehouse management systems. Our team is dedicated to leveraging
cutting-edge technology to deliver robust, scalable, and user-friendly systems that meet the dynamic needs of modern warehousing.
- Literature Review and Industry Research: Review existing methodologies and explore classification frameworks for software categorization in similar systems, focusing on categories like master data management and orchestration.
- Application Inventory and Analysis: Compile a comprehensive inventory of all applications within the platform and analyze each based on functionality, data dependencies, and interactions.
- Categorization Framework Development: Develop a tailored classification framework, identifying categories such as master data management, orchestrators, and enablers, and propose additional relevant categories.
- Classification Implementation: Apply the developed framework to categorize each application, documenting their roles, dependencies, and positions within the system architecture.
- Recommendations and Documentation: Identify potential improvements in architecture and integration, suggest opportunities for optimization, and prepare comprehensive documentation and reports for stakeholders.
