As a Python developer, you will play a crucial role in the System Operations department, collaborating closely with other skilled developers within the team. You'll deliver new functionalities and ensure our applications' optimal performance. Supported by a robust digital infrastructure from our software architects and a dedicated scrum team, you will contribute to applications that optimize electricity grid usage, improve energy distribution and facilitate the transition to sustainable energy sources.
The main data sources for doing system operations are, measurements, forecasts, grid-models and market/client-interactions. At team grid-insight-management are responsible for the grid models and connectivity related questions. For example to what congestion points is this solar park connected? Everything we do is in the near-real time or 48 hour ahead domain.
Our current challenge is to scale up from 100 grid models to 50k grid models served every 5 minutes. This poses challenges in both the domain specifics as well as the software engineering perspective.
Our technology stack consists of Python, Fast API, Kubernetes, AWS, Tekton,
Elasticsearch, Argo CD, Git Hub and Celery.

We operate in an Agile environment, within the team we minimize waste through leveraging kanban principles. We mostly work remote and gather in the office once every two weeks.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop REST APIs

Write clean and reusable Python code that aligns with our commitment to code quality.

Ensure software quality through unit- and integration testing.

Optimize application performance and maintain software quality anddeployment pipelines.

Engage in technical discussions to address and meet design requirements.

Minimum of 1 years of experience as a (Python) developer through side-jobs,hobby projects or studies.

Strong teamwork skills and a problem-solving mindset.

Proficiency in English (System Operations main language) and/or Dutch.

A ‘do what is required’ mindset, even if it means stepping out of your comfort zone.
-
You have done your studies in a relevant scientific or engineering field.
-
You are very curious to learn about the physical grid and the way to model it.
Nice to Have:

Affinity with the energy sector and knowledge of CIM modeling.

Experience with Fast API, AWS, Kubernetes, or Tekton Pipelines.

Better arranged for you
Based on a 40-hour working week, you will receive:
-
A gross monthly salary of €3.809,- to €6.106,- (scale 8 and 9).
-
An annual individual choice budget (IKB) of 18% (full-time) or 12.8% (part-time) of your gross annual salary. This includes 8% vacation allowance. You can have this amount paid out, but you can also buy extra days off, for example. You choose what suits you.
-
24.5 vacation days per year, which can be supplemented with extra days purchased from your IKB.
-
An end of year bonus in December of 6% of your annual salary
-
the Sustainable Employability Budget (DIB). You receive € 500 per year for this budget, which you can use, for example, for health and safety at home furniture, career development, professional literature, sports subscription or coaching.

An NS Business Card, so you can travel sustainably. Will you be using your own transportation? Then you will receive a travel allowance per kilometer.

The possibility to work from home or the offices in Arnhem or Amsterdam;
