About The Role

Are you an experienced ICT professional with extensive experience of security management and security architecture? Do you have expert knowledge of security concepts and technologies for networking and high performance computing? Would you like to work on diverse security related projects with a broad range of stakeholders in a unique and collaborative organisation?
At GÉANT we enable research, education, science and innovation across the globe via our high-speed data communications networks and identity and access management solutions. The Security Products and Services team deliver products and services to the European National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) including a growing number of security services such as DDOS protection, threat analysis, training and awareness and cryptographic services. In this new role, you will design and develop technical infrastructure and security systems/tools for GÉANT and partner NRENs as well as provide advisory and consulting services related to information security, and perform threat intelligence and technology watch activities.
You’ll be responsible for:

• Designing, developing, and implementing/managing cybersecurity tools and systems/infrastructure
• Developing and maintaining the GÉANT security roadmap which guides security developments for GÉANT and the NRENs for the next 5 years;
• Managing the information security knowledge base, maintaining a current knowledge of the security technologies, threats, vulnerabilities concepts and controls, and countermeasures, and advising on security best practices and recommendations
• Producing security architecture, design documentation, best practice recommendations, secure system configurations and other documents for GÉANT and NRENs
• Participating in security experts groups within the R&E community and the wider security arena

About You

• Extensive ICT experience including experience within information security
• Extensive experience devising Security Roadmaps and underlying security architecture for products and services
• Expert knowledge of security concepts and technologies for networking, high performance computing and collaboration with a broad basis of ICT knowledge
• Expert knowledge of (security) architecture principles
• Deep understanding of the principles around product and service lifecycles
• Knowledge of open-source tools and of operating systems
