About Soundscape Rotterdam
Soundscape Rotterdam is an innovative pilot weekend for what will become an annual music conference celebrating the city’s rich musical diversity and dynamic nightlife. This event is designed to provide a platform for both established and emerging music scenes originating from diasporic communities, positioning Rotterdam as an internationally recognized music hub. Soundscape combines a knowledge conference and a celebration of music and culture, connecting communities with the city and its organizations.
Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and creative Social Media/Community Manager Intern to join our team. As part of the Soundscape Rotterdam event, you will play a vital role in managing our online presence, engaging with our community, and amplifying the reach of this exciting event. You will gain hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, and community building, all while contributing to an event that highlights Rotterdam’s diverse music and cultural scenes.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute social media strategies for platforms such as Instagram, Tik Tok and Meta (Facebook/Instagram)
• Create, curate, and manage engaging content (text, images, videos, stories) that aligns with the Soundscape brand and vision
• Monitor and respond to online conversations and interactions with our community, fostering a positive and active online presence
• Assist in planning and running social media campaigns, including organic posts and paid advertising
• Track and analyze performance metrics to optimize engagement and growth
• Collaborate with the marketing and events team to ensure cohesive messaging across all channels
• Support community engagement by organizing online discussions, live streams, and event-related content that keeps our audience informed and excited

Skills and Qualifications

• Knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram, Tik Tok and Meta (Facebook/Instagram)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative content ideas
• Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) are a plus
• Familiarity with social media analytics tools and experience tracking performance metrics
• Passion for music, culture, and community building
• Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
