Please note: Due to a shortage of student housing and to align with student visa requirements (if applicable), we require for your application to be considered that you are enrolled with a Dutch university (of applied sciences) or college (studying communications/ design/ marketing) and your internship is a required part of your study programme. You should also already be located in the Netherlands.
Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship (ECE) is the leading entrepreneurship centre in Europe. Within ECE, we carry out a myriad of projects related to (inclusive) entrepreneurship, innovation ecosystems and high-growth firms through insights, skills and connections. As our Social Media Marketing Intern, you will develop social media content and strategies.
Because we work on various research and education activities, we are often exposed to new opportunities and activities in which we want to disseminate a broader sense of the entrepreneurial mindset. As our social media marketing intern, you will have hands-on experience working with our various partners and internal teams to create communications assets.
By reporting to the Brand Design Manager, interfacing with each team, you will tap into your creative skills to disseminate meaningful content highlighting our organisation’s accomplishments and happenings. You will have access to our website and social media data to make recommendations on bringing our entrepreneurial ecosystem to life in the digital landscape. Because we have a flat organisational structure, you often come into contact with other fields within the organisation, allowing you to take initiative and responsibilities in areas where you would like to develop. We are happy to allow you to develop yourself and explore other areas beyond social media marketing.

Are you our new Social Media Marketing Intern:

• You are enrolled with a Dutch university (of applied sciences) or college (studying communications/ design/ marketing) and your internship is a required part of your study programme. You are already located in the Netherlands;
• You are available at least four days a week starting in January or the latest on the 3rd of February, 2025;
• You are hands-on, flexible, and eager to learn the various skills between marketing, communications and design;
• You are creative, understand visual communications, and have a keen eye for storytelling and content creation;
• You have a proven passion for creating (digital) content and cultivating viewer engagement and growth;
• You are approachable and proactive and have effective communication skills. You know how to involve and activate people as a team player and self-starter;
• You are social media-savvy and have a knack for picking up social media trends and adapting them for a particular brand. You know your way around social media platforms like Linked In, Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, You Tube, Twitter, and Pinterest;
• You are familiar with MS Office, Word Press, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Canva. You have an interest in or skills with video editing tools and equipment;
• You are fluent in English, both orally and in writing. Dutch and other languages are not required but an added bonus;
• An advantage: you have an affinity for entrepreneurship and innovation or have worked at an incubator, startup community, or startup facilitator.

As an intern within the organisation, you will become acquainted with the many aspects of entrepreneurship and have the opportunity to work on various projects. Our office is located in the heart of Rotterdam amidst a vibrant entrepreneurial community at Microlab where we have daily office lunches and weekly networking drinks.

3. Case day (half day) at our office to experience the atmosphere and meeting the team. We will also ask you to prepare one or two cases that relate to what you will work on if you were to join and present this to part of the team at the end of the day.
4. Hiring decision (on average within one week after the case day).
