Some role responsibilities would include:
  • Preparing financial statements for the clients' companies and assisting in formulating budgetary and accounting policies
  • Conducting financial investigations, preparing reports, and advising on matters such as the purchase and sale of businesses, capital financing, and taxation
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information
  • Recommending financial actions and providing financial advice to the management by analyzing accounting options
  • Summarizing current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement , and other reports
  • Maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Maintaining, developing and setting up new accounting systems
  • Preparing GST, PAYE, INCOME TAX RETURN and other taxation jobs for the clients' company
  • Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
  • Providing financial and taxation advice and answering accounting procedure questions
  • Complying with New Zealand tax legislations and other applicable statutory requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
  • Providing accurate and reliable reports, providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements
  • Preparing special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
  • Secures financial information by completing data base backups
  • Maintaining customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
  • Liaising with financial institutions to establish funds management arrangements
  • Reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Performing any other duties required by the employer

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Must have a relevant Bachelor's Degree or higher qualification, OR
  • Have at least five years of relevant work experience
  • Efficient and organised
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Able to work well in a team
