Opportunity currently exists for an Applications Group Coordinator to join the Applications team based in our Cambria Park Factory. Based in Wiri, this role will manage the Applications Lab, support New Product Development (NPD) activities with the team, co-ordinate Shelf-Life Determination studies, maintain kitchen hygienic practices and liaise with key stakeholders internally and externally to support project work.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the Applications Group Manager, key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Prepare recipes and samples as required to support NPD, prepare panels as necessary and support with cooking duties.
- Build and maintain knowledge of raw materials and site quarantine facilities.
- Build sensory analysis knowledge and understanding and participate in sensory panel activities.
- Lead the determination of shelf-life process for the NPD and renovations through setting up panels, maintaining temperature logs of key areas, data entry and database management.
- Build knowledge of Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) tools and techniques to identify competitive opportunities.
- Develop working relationships with internal and external networks including couriers, key suppliers, facilities management, other AG groups and factory teams.
- Maintain compliance to good kitchen and laboratory practices by maintaining stock levels and cleaning standards.
- Participate in Audits and other regulatory and compliance activities for the team.
- Ensure safety and food safety are a key focus for all users of the kitchen and laboratory.
- Learn basic SAP & SAP-RM transactions to view and access recipes and stock levels of Raw materials.
- Maintain relevant databases and support data management for other projects as required.
- Work with corporate sensory team to maintain skills and best practices of panels and processes.
- Participate in team activities, including administrative duties as assigned by the Applications Group Manager.
What will make you successful
- Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong team player with a drive to achieve quality outcomes.
- Technical education background, University degree or equivalent (e.g., Food Science or Engineering)
- 1+ years of experience relevant to this role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Previous experience and familiarity working with SAP preferred.
- A working understanding of NZ Food Regulations is beneficial.
