Chef de Partie

The role
Based at the busy Christchurch Adventure Park Cafe, this is a permanent position for a minimum of 60 hours per fortnight, which will include afternoon/evening shifts and weekend work.

The main responsibility of the Chef de Partie is to assist the Head Chef and the rest of the kitchen team in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and to coordinate particular sections of production as designated by the Head Chef, while producing high quality food offerings for our customers. This includes preparing, cooking and presenting dishes and assisting the Head Chef to create new dishes for the menu. You will follow - and ensure the rest of the kitchen team follow - food hygiene and health and safety measures and play your part in ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently.
You must have/be:
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen
  • Level 3 National Certificate in Hospitality (Professional Cookery) ideal
  • Excellent leadership, communication and people skills
  • Ability to prioritise, multitask, show initiative and work well under pressure
  • Experience dealing with suppliers and the ordering processes
  • Honest, dependable, diligent, flexible and enthusiastic
