Conference and Events Coordinator

AUT Event Services offers comprehensive conference and event management services at AUT's four campuses as well as a range of venues in and around Auckland.
This role is a full time permanent position.
We require an experienced, passionate and dedicated person to become an essential part of our team to work closely with our Faculties, Catering Operations and Audio Visual departments to ensure the successful management and delivery of conferences & events.
The successful applicant will be positive, flexible and well organised with a strong customer focus and extremely professional. The ability to work within a large team environment is essential.
Having attributes such as confidence, being methodical, logical & proactive, being a good listener & having strong attention to detail are all extremely advantageous to securing this position.
The role demands that you take total ownership of your events, often with many stakeholders, prioritising your workload along the way.
If you have an extraordinary ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and a desire to deliver high quality service with genuine passion for planning and logistics, then we want to speak to you! By the way you'll need a sense of humor to go with that.
Successful candidates should ideally possess:
  • Understanding of Event Management Systems such as Ungerboeck, Events Pro or similar.
  • CMS experience in super user friendly systems such as Weebly or Word Press
  • An excellent level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Some layout experience in Adobe programs such as In-design and Photoshop desirable.
  • Strong experience in administration and reporting essential.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Previous coordination experience in conferences and events is essential.
  • Current clean New Zealand Motor vehicle license.
  • Diploma/Bachelor in Event Management or Business (not essential).
This position is available now. Note that you must be currently eligible to work in New Zealand.
Salary Range: $69,124 - $81,741 (dependent on experience and qualifications)

  • Full-time denotes 37.5 hours per week
