We are the Citizen & Customer Services unit and we're here to make the customer experience a great one. We're one of the first councils in New Zealand to provide the ability for citizens to manage a service request without having to call or see Council staff in person. We give customers the ability to deal with us the way that they want to; their way, any time - online, email, phone or face-to-face at one of our 12 Service Hubs.
About the role | Ko te mahi nei

Be the first point of contact for the Council
Respond to customer queries via phone, email, and in person
Support the community with a wide variety of queries including rates bill queries, booking swimming lessons and arranging contractors to remove graffiti

About you | Ko Koe Tēnei

Have a Customer Service background within a large or complex organisation
Have experience with multiple technology platforms
Be customer-focused, able to think on their feet, have a positive attitude, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
Have good attention to detail and the ability to multi-task

We are expecting interviews to take place the week of November 25 th 2024
It is proposed successful candidates will start January 27 th 2025

As part of the recruitment process, you may be invited to an assessment centre. If we move forward with this step, candidates will be notified in advance.

Salary range: $58,757 - $69,638 per annum
Hours of work:

Full-time, permanent positions (5 x 8 hour days)

Our Customer Service Representatives operate on a rotating shift roster with the earliest start time being 5.00am and the latest finish time being 10.30pm. Some evening and weekend work is expected, although the majority of shifts will fall during normal business hours.
Location: Initially roles will be based at Te Hononga Civic Offices, 53 Hereford Street, however after training is complete shifts may be based at any Christchurch City Council service hubs or facilities.
