Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

The remuneration range for this role is: $70,024 to $74,510 and is covered by the collective agreement: PSA Clerical & Administration Collective Employment Agreement.
  • Emergency Department Clerical and Telephony Team
  • Shift cover over a 24 Hour period Monday to Sunday for 8 hour shifts
  • Casual

We have an opportunity for an experienced Administrator to join our busy ED Clerical and Telephony Team.

Position Description | ED Administrator
Describe the experience and professional competencies of the ideal candidate- in brief sentences. Include 3-4 bullet points of essential skills and experience.
  • The ideal applicant should possess:
  • Previous receptionist experience
  • Customer focused with excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of medical terminology
  • Proven knowledge of all Windows based applications
  • Proven keyboard skills ensuring speed and accuracy
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven knowledge of the Privacy Act, and the Health Information Privacy Code
  • An understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and cultural awareness
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritise appropriately
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Able to work shift work
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
