We require several experienced fisheries deckhands to work on our medium-sized fishing trawler.
The vessel's home port is Timaru.
We are seeking full-time crew for 12 months.
Trips are usually for 6days.
Normal fisheries deckhand duties for a trawler vessel including the deployment and retrieval of the trawl net handling, storing, and unloading of the catch, and cleaning duties.
Experience of at least six months experience as a fisheries deckhand is essential.
If you have NZ Advanced Deckhand - Fishing ( ADH-F ) Deckhand Qualifications that would be a definite advantage.
Wire splicing and net mending skills are highly desirable.
We are a happy team and crew safety and well-being of all our crew are our key priority.
Part of our assessment process will involve limited police checks for all applicants.
There is also a pre-employment and ongoing drug testing program for all of these positions.
Applicants will need to agree with their previous employers being contacted in the vetting process.
Remuneration based on experience and qualifications with a base rate of $29.15 per hour. We are happy to discuss "catch share" contract options.
