As a Groundsperson, you will be working with a wide range of people across the University campus, helping us to achieve our Property and Campus Development vision to create and maintain a built environment that encourages and inspires aspirations of excellence for everyone who experiences the University of Otago.
- Lawn care and weed spraying.
- Vandalism repair.
- General garden maintenance.
- Landscaping.
- Litter removal.
- Undertaking alteration work as directed.
We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic, who are self- motivated and conscientious.
- Be physically fit and capable of heavy lifting.
- Show suitable practical experience in horticulture, gardening and/or landscaping.
- Have a general knowledge of materials, equipment and machinery associated with grounds maintenance and alteration work.
- Have the ability to carry out basic equipment maintenance.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills.
- Hold relevant horticultural qualifications.

The Property Services and Campus Development team are proud to support New Zealand's first university by providing the best facilities, services and physical environment in which staff, students and the general public can learn, teach, live and play.
From overseeing the design and construction of award-winning buildings, fixing broken light bulbs, booking office space, cutting the grass and trimming hedges, we are a highly trained team who help keep the five University of Otago campuses humming.

This is a permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) position, located in Dunedin.
You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this position.
The salary range for this role is $57,769 - $69,270 per annum.
