Fonterra Oceania is our newly formed entity that merges the Fonterra Brands New Zealand (FBNZ) and Fonterra Australia operations, aimed at enhancing our competitive position in the trans-Tasman dairy market. The integration of Fonterra Brands New Zealand (FBNZ) and Fonterra Australia builds on similarities to outperform the competition, create scale and synergies, and will strengthen our competitive edge. This role will join a team that helps to build an even stronger trans-Tasman dairy business with reach across Oceania and beyond.
Fonterra Bridge Street produces many of New Zealand’s favourite cheeses, including beloved brands Kapiti and Mainland. The Cheese which comes from Bridge Street is special because it’s crafted by hand and uses only locally sourced milk. Winning multiple prestigious international and local Cheese Awards, Bridge Street is also one of Fonterra’s oldest sites, with it being open for more than a century. It is an iconic employer to the Taranaki region and communities and has had many generations of people work here. As a Bridge Street employee, you will also have the opportunity to sample new cheeses, specialty cheeses and other related products. About the opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga
We are seeking a dedicated Hygiene Operator to join our team at Bridge Street. This role is crucial in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety in our manufacturing facility. As our Hygiene Operator, you will be responsible for executing comprehensive deep cleaning procedures and ensuring compliance with our rigorous food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough deep cleaning procedures across all designated areas of the site
- Handle specialized cleaning tools and chemicals while following safety protocols
- Support environmental sustainability through effective waste management and recycling
- Maintain clear records of cleaning activities and chemical usage
- Participate in regular inspections and communicate maintenance needs
- Work collaboratively with team members to coordinate cleaning schedules
- Support compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations
The hours of work for this role are Monday - Friday, 07:00am – 3:30pm with the possibility of weekend work during peak periods.
About you | Mōu
We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a hygiene or cleaning role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment
- Care and attention to processes that keep our products safe for consumers
- Ability to maintain clear records and follow food safety procedures
- Physical capability to perform the role's tasks - we provide equipment and training to support safe working practices
- Commitment to safety through proper use of protective equipment (PPE), which we provide
- Skills in communicating and working with people from various backgrounds
