About the opportunity | Te whiwhinga mahi

This is an initial 12 month fixed term contract for a Data Architect to play a pivotal role in building and maintaining Fonterra’s Data Model (FDM) and repository.

In this role, you will provide internal support for data modelling within ER/Studio, ensuring robust data architecture solutions are in place to support our business needs. Acting as a mentor for Design Leads, you will help shape the analysis and design of data product work models, stepping in as and when required.

You will also participate in the Data Management Group (DMG), contributing to the governance of data factory designs by providing feedback on design data models and merging work into the FDM. You will ensure data models meet our standards and are properly documented and managed with metadata to support self-service and AI initiatives. Additionally, you will develop data architecture solutions for platforms that support the Co-op’s data, starting with DVC, Data Quality, MDM and Data Catalog.

You are an experienced Data Architect with a background in the supply chain or manufacturing industries, bringing a deep understanding of complex data environments. Your expertise lies in implementing Master Data Management (MDM) systems, data governance frameworks, and data modelling practices. You have a proven track record in ensuring data quality and integrity across large-scale projects, making you adept at managing intricate data processes.

You are also a natural mentor, and your collaborative approach enables you to share your knowledge effectively, driving the team’s success. With your comprehensive skill set and hands-on experience, you are ready to make an immediate impact on our data architecture and governance strategies.
