The HPSNZ innovation programme has a world leading reputation within the Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth High Performance Sporting Systems. One of the innovation programme's points of difference internationally is our in-house engineering team.
Reporting to the Head of Innovation, the Lead Software Engineer is responsible for leading the Software team in the delivery of many and varied Innovation projects designed to positively impact the performance of NZ Athletes on the world stage.
The role will suit candidates that demonstrably understand how technology can enhance performance in sport and have the skill sets required to deliver the software component of the process within a multi-disciplinary engineering team. Significant software development experience is required (8+ years), with a sharp focus on interaction with hardware devices (e.g. data loggers) and delivering excellent user experience. The role requires someone who will excel in creating novel solutions to varied problems and is able to bring ideas through concepts and into reality.
As a leadership role the successful candidate will also need to display excellent team leadership, problem solving and communication skills.
