GHD is on the lookout for an experienced and dynamic Marker Leader Power & Energy to join our management team. This is a leadership role within our business, responsible for setting the direction and guiding the growth of our Power & Energy business.
The key objective is market growth, specifically increased client acquisition, the winning of exciting projects, improved portfolio mix, and sustainable profitability on a market-wide basis.
The good news is that the base has been set. Over the last 3 years GHD has been successful in delivering energy storage, transmission, asset management, and generation projects across our APAC region. Our current Energy lead is moving into directing projects which has created an opportunity for you to build on our success and lead our next horizon of growth.
This role could sit in Auckland, Wellington, or anywhere in New Zealand with a focus on our NZ & Pacific market.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for the strategic direction of the GHD NZ Power & Energy business.
- Build client networks, promoting market growth and sustainable profitability.
- Direction and leadership on projects as Project Director.
- Keep the pipeline full.
- Be active in the external marketplace as an industry leader, helping to profile GHD's capabilities in the region.
- Strong technical capability with an ability to 'roll up the sleeves' to lead the delivery of great outcomes for clients or in directing teams in the delivery of projects.
- Motivated, passionate, mentor and strong builder of teams
- Build and drive culture.
- A relevant university degree in a business, professional services, or an engineering or energy related discipline with at least 15+ year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Exceptional people relationship and networking skills, extensive personal network and industry profile across the Power & Energy Sector.
- Extensive knowledge of the Power & Sector market.
- Strong team development skills, a team player.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, open communication.
- Strong judgement and decisiveness, bias for action.
- Leadership skills, cooperative with other staff.
- Ability to influence others, sound negotiating skills.
- Ability to collaborate and break down silos to work.
- Comfortable breaking into new markets and new relationships.
- Understand and adhere to GHD’s Values, Codes of Conduct and Policies.
