The Role
You will be a key part of the team involved in the preparation and cooking of meals for Taieri Court Residents and the community. In this role, you will provide efficient and effective food service, presenting meals in an appealing and appetizing manner and general duties including baking; some cold dessert preparation; some other menu preparation; some meat preparation; breakfast & dining room set-up (including cleaning); and general kitchen duties.
You will work in a small supportive kitchen team providing a high standard of meals. You will prepare breakfast and midday meal for 33 residents at Rest Home level care plus the main meal for TC meals/Meals on Wheels service up to 95 meals per day.
Hours: This position is initially Fixed term till 2nd December 2024 to provide cover for an employee on leave. Fixed term hours are 30 hours per week to be worked 0700-1330hrs Monday to Friday. Following 2nd December, will be moved to a Relief/Casual position with preferred availability to cover all shifts – Day, Tea, Weekend, & Night Cook shifts to be worked on a when and if required basis.

- Have kitchen experience and unit standards 167 and 168 (preferable)
- Experience with bulk cooking would be an advantage.
