Sport, Recreation & Wellbeing Coordinator
Position Purpose: To support and help deliver the Sport, Recreation and Wellbeing strategy
and programme for Massey University students and staff through
coordination of social leagues, wellbeing programmes and initiatives, and
gym services.

About this area This role fits within the Wellington Campus Operations group,
coordinating and delivering sports, recreation, and wellbeing services to
students and staff on the Wellington campus.

Accountabilities
Wellington Social • Plan the delivery of social sports leagues each semester (dates,
Sports League equipment, rules, draws).
Promotion • Work with other campus stakeholders to effectively promote
participation in the sports leagues (attend clubs’ day, MAWSA give

Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications:
  • A graduate degree in any field is desirable.
Experience: • Experience in any sports team management, event management,
project management or sports refereeing.

  • Experience in developing and maintaining a social media (Facebook
and Instagram) presence.

Essential • Requirement to pass a Criminal and Traffic Convictions (Security)
Check performed by the Ministry of Justice.

• Requirement to pass a Credit History and No Asset Procedure (NAP)
Credit History Check performed by Equifax.

  • A safety check in accordance with the Vulnerable Children Act 2014
and the Vulnerable Children (Requirements for Safety Checks of
Children’s Workers) Regulations 2015 is required. Part of this
process includes a requirement to pass the police vetting part of the
safety check.
