About the role
As a Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient management of traffic around our construction sites. You will lead and support a team of traffic controllers, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards. This is a key role where your expertise will contribute to the smooth running of our projects and the safety of all road users.
This is a permanent, full-time role working primarily Mon-Friday starting at 6am. You will be working a minimum of 40 hours per week and have the flexibility to work additional days/hours to meet the business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support small teams of traffic controllers over two or three sites.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including Co PTTM standards.
- Monitor traffic flows and adjust management plans as needed.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure safe and efficient traffic management.
- Liaise with site managers, contractors, and local authorities.
- Provide training and support to traffic controllers.
- Report on traffic management activities and incidents.
What you’ll bring to the role
- A safety-first attitude – for yourself, your team and the public
- Full clean New Zealand Driver’s License, Minimum Class 1, class 2 desirable
- STMS Qualification with Category A and B practising
- Sound verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience mentoring and supervising crews
- Proven experience in the traffic industry
- A high level of physical fitness due to the physical nature of the role
- Reliable, honest and flexible
