Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
We have an exciting opportunity for a recent HR graduate or someone who has had some work experience and would like to get their foot into HR. In this foundation HR role, you will apply your excellent organisational skills to a wide range of HR processes to deliver our vision of exceptional service to UC staff. You will be kept busy preparing and coordinating HR documentation, answering queries and supporting our People and Culture team.

This role offers plenty of variety, with the opportunity to liaise with a range of UC staff across campus, as well as contribute to continuous improvements and projects and learn from our experienced team. We will provide full training and guided support to professionally develop you into this role.

To successfully fulfil this role, you will be:

  • Positive with a can-do attitude
You will also have:
  • Attention to detail, together with the ability to maintain standards under pressure
  • Recently graduated in an HR qualification or experience working in an administrative clerical role within a medium to large organisation
  • Experience in dealing with a diverse range of people and ability to use discretion when handling confidential information
  • A preference for experience in interpretation and application of relevant legislation with a good working knowledge of employment legislation and employment agreements
  • A preference for knowledge of Payroll/HR/Recruitment policies, procedures, guidelines and current best practice
