Test Manager Public Safety Network – Wellington – Fixed Term

Mō tēnei tūranga - About the role:

The Public Safety Network (PSN) Programme is a whole of government recently established critical communications capability with the purpose of enabling Emergency Services to work in new ways to deliver information to the frontline.

The Test Manager Public Safety Network will play a key role in managing all aspects of technical testing required by Fire and Emergency New Zealand ahead of the migration to the Public Safety Network LMR and Cellular Networks. Reporting to the Business Change Manager, PSN, you will be responsible for the day to day leadership of test strategy from processing testing through to updating testing roadmaps to be in line with best practice. You will also be supported by a Test Analyst who will report directly to you.

You will be part of a once in a lifetime opportunity to modernise firefighter operational activities through enhancing critical communication capabilities for the frontline.

This is a Fixed Term position from ASAP until 30 June 2025.

Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you’ll bring to the role:

You will have knowledge and demonstrated experience of the telecommunications industry, ICT, land mobile radio and IP systems in particular in planning and managing Systems Integration Testing. As a strong communicator, you will be able to demonstrate your stakeholder engagement skills to develop and maintain relationships across the wide range of technologies and people within and external to FENZ. Working within a fast paced environment, you will collaborate and interact with a wide audience with ease, have good presentation skills and an ability to work to tight deadlines.

It would be an advantage to have experience and/or understanding of working in the emergency services sector.

To be successful in this role, we’d expect you will have:

  • Experience in testing Cellular and Land Mobile Networks
  • Demonstrated end-to-end testing experience across the service delivery lifecycle
  • Cloud management and testing experience
  • ISTQB Foundations certified
  • Positive relationship-building and communication skills
  • Strong leadership, mentoring and appraising skills
  • Attention to detail and self-driven

The salary range for this role is $112,415-$124,906 (pro-rated), dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
