Job Description: Cashier

Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:

• Accurately record and maintain financial transactions in the restaurant's ledger and accounting software.
• Monitor and reconcile daily sales, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Manage petty cash transactions and maintain an organized filing system.

Cash Handling:

• Oversee cash transactions at the register, ensuring precision and adherence to company policies.
• Provide excellent customer service during payment processes, addressing any inquiries or concerns.
• Balance cash register at the end of each shift and report any discrepancies.

Bank Deposits:

• Prepare and deposit daily revenue into the designated bank accounts.
• Reconcile bank statements regularly to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Expense Tracking:

• Monitor and categorize expenses, ensuring proper documentation for each transaction.
• Collaborate with relevant departments to collect and record expense receipts.

Adherence to Compliance:

• Work with external auditors during periodic audits to provide necessary documentation.

Point of Sale (POS) System Management:

• Maintain and update the POS system, ensuring accurate menu pricing and itemization.
• Troubleshoot and address any technical issues related to the POS system.

Collaboration with Team:

• Collaborate with restaurant management and staff to address financial concerns and implement best practices.
• Provide training and support to colleagues on cash handling procedures.

Customer Interaction:

• Interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner during payment transactions.
• Address any billing inquiries and provide assistance in resolving discrepancies.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in cashier roles in a restaurant setting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and point-of-sale systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
• Problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
