Our client in the energy sector is seeking experienced and visionary leaders to join its team as Managing Director/CEO and Executive Directors (EDs) to provide Executive and Strategic Leadership for their operations in Nigeria.

About the Role
As the Executive Director, Market Operations, you will be at the helm of Nigeria’s electricity market, ensuring its smooth and transparent operation. This senior leadership position is critical for the daily management and administration of the market, driving strategic initiatives, implementing reforms, and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks. Your leadership will directly impact the commercial sustainability of Nigeria's national grid operations and the reliability of its electricity supply.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies to ensure the effective and rule-compliant operation of the electricity market, aligning with NISO's mission and objectives.

• Provide strategic oversight for market design, pricing, settlements, and compliance with the Market Rules.

• Formulate and enforce policies and procedures that guarantee market transparency and adherence to the Market Rules.

• Oversee the execution of the day-ahead and real-time markets, ensuring adherence to the Market Rules and achieving optimal market outcomes.

• Manage the market settlement process with a focus on accuracy, transparency, and timeliness, in line with the Market Rules.

• Ensure strict adherence to Market Rules by market participants and address any non-compliance promptly.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Law, Business Administration, Engineering, or Statistics.

• Master’s degree or professional certification in a relevant field is highly desirable.

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the electricity sector, with at least proven 10 years in a senior management role within market operations or a related area.

• Extensive experience in electricity market design, operation, and regulation.

• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
