Pre-Sales & Business Development Engineer (Water Management Solutions)

Purpose of the Role
The ideal candidate will combine their technical engineering skills with business acumen to provide technical solutions, support business development, and assist in securing projects/contracts in the water and wastewater treatment industry. This role will focus on pre-sales activities, fostering technical partnerships, and ensuring alignment with client needs and market demand, driving business growth within Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to understand client requirements and provide technical expertise during the sales process. Deliver product presentations, technical demos, and solution proposals to potential clients.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the water and wastewater treatment sector. Assist in developing strategies to penetrate new markets, expand customer base, and generate revenue.
- Solution Design & Proposal Development: Work closely with engineering teams to design custom water and wastewater treatment solutions that meet client specifications. Prepare technical documentation, including proposals, design briefs, and RFP responses.
- Market & Competitor Analysis: Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to identify growth opportunities and enhance solution offerings.
- Client Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with prospective clients, providing technical support and strategic insights throughout the sales cycle. Act as a trusted technical and business advisor to guide clients through complex water treatment challenges.
- Technical Partnerships: Engage with vendors, suppliers, and technical partners to source cutting-edge technologies and enhance the firm's solution portfolio.
- Provide end-to-end technical and business development support to the sales process, ensuring client needs are met with innovative and cost-effective water treatment solutions.
- Develop and implement business strategies to expand market share in the water and wastewater treatment sector.
- Ensure all proposals and designs comply with regulatory standards and industry best practices in water and wastewater treatment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize solutions for customer satisfaction, business viability, and technical feasibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Process, Environmental, or related field) is mandatory.
- A Master’s degree in a related field will be an advantage.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment, with a focus on pre-sales, solution design, or project engineering.
- Strong business development experience, with a proven track record of identifying and securing new business opportunities in technical sales environments.
- Deep knowledge of water treatment technologies, systems, and processes, including pumps, filtration, chemical treatments, and effluent systems.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence decision-makers in both technical and business scenarios.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, capable of designing custom solutions and aligning them with business objectives.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English.
- Willingness to travel both within Nigeria and internationally as required.
Pay: ₦700,000.00 - ₦900,000.00 per month
