The Job
The Team Leader will be responsible for delivering exceptional service and support to groups visiting Norway, ensuring the timely processing of itineraries and services. With a focus on MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) processes, the role involves collaborating with sales teams to enhance destination knowledge and confidence, while driving revenue growth. The Team Leader will also manage specialized business and assist the Operations Manager with various managerial responsibilities. All tasks will be executed in alignment with Kuoni Tumlare's policies, targets, and deadlines.

Provide direct and ongoing expert destination support for sales, quotations and customers when required.

Oversee MICE process and strategy.

Delegate Mice projects within the team.

Checking itineraries and services quoted by sales to ensure feasibility and making suggestions where necessary to maximize contribution to margin.

Negotiating with suppliers to maximize the company’s contribution to margin.

Coordinate destination strategy discussions with sales and procurement.

Undertake project work as required by management.

Handle contract loading on the relevant operating systems.

Complete any rate collection/negotiation activities requested your Manager/Supervisor.

Provide active and ongoing support and knowledge transfer to the Company’s sales organisation.

Investigate and resolve service complaints.

Deliver on teams agreed SLA’s.

Creation and ongoing support of your destination marketing toolkit, through tools and unique selling points for the end clients and for Sales to use.

Pre/Post season analysis and recommendations.

Assist in building a network of key relationships within your destination, including suppliers, local and national tourist boards/agencies.

Upselling and distribution of new destination itineraries and activities.

To process and confirm service bookings efficiently and accurately, paying attention to any special requirements of the clients.

Destination information handling and communication with other parts of the business, (Memos - emergencies, alerts & general information, events, road closures etc.)

Lead and manage a team of Destination Coordinators, providing guidance, support and performance feedback.

Ensure that the team is working efficiently, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality service to clients.

Foster a collaborative and positive work environment to ensure team morale, productivity and professional development.

Provide training and development opportunities for team members.

Involved in new staff training and support of temporary staff.

Support team members with training, information sharing and destination/market knowledge.

Stay updated on industry trends, new destinations, best practices, sharing this knowledge with the team to maintain high standard of service.
Requirements

Commercially minded and Sales driven

Proven ability to build strong relationships and manage team

Good spoken and written communication skills

Language skills – English, Norwegian

Entrepreneurial and creative approach

Destination travel expertise of Norway

Excellent at multitasking and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
