The positions
As a Graduate, you will work alongside experienced engineers to develop the aluminium production technology of the future. The work and tasks will be focused towards development of Hal Zero– our new process for zero-CO2 aluminium. A basis for all positions is a good understanding of chemistry, curiosity, and a constant willingness to learn. Examples of tasks you may be involved in are development of new materials, material qualification, chemical analysis of gas/liquid/solids, process development and equipment design. You will be exposed both to hands-on laboratory work and desktop studies. The positions will be part of the Hal Zero Group and work associated with our extensive R&D laboratories and piloting activity.
The Hal Zero Group reports to the New Technologies department which in turn is part of Technology and Operational Support (TOS). TOS is responsible for development, implementation and the operational support to Hydro’s smelters in Norway and abroad. In addition, TOS has an exciting agenda, working towards achieving zero emission aluminium production, through initiatives like carbon capture & storage solutions and the groundbreaking new process technology Hal Zero.
The TOS unit is a highly skilled organization in Hydro with around 220 employees connected to our technology hubs in Norway and Germany, representing a wide range of technical expertise. Together we work to push the boundaries of low carbon aluminium. You will be part of a strong competence network both in and outside of Hydro with continuous possibility to develop your own knowledge and skillset.
This is a great opportunity to join a diverse, innovative & influential organization with high ambitions and a strong future!
- Project participation in ongoing projects towards Hal Zero development
