Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities
- Support all laboratory sample-related activities, including preparation (media, solutions, buffers, etc), processing (cells, tissues, etc) and maintenance (equipment, sample storage,etc).
- Maintain and update appropriate documentation and databases.
- Ensure laboratory EHS procedures are followed, the highest standards of laboratory cleanliness and organization.
- Participate in training on fundamental lab support policies, programs, and practices.
- Participate in the design and organization of experiments in conjunction with their lab colleagues and Team members. Serve as a resource to Discovery team.
- Collaborate with colleagues as necessary to gain access and training
- Contribute to the generation of work instructions, tests protocols, and reports.
- Follow departmental work instructions, SOP’s, safety regulations and c Gx Ps to perform assigned tasks.
- Monitor and oversee lab supply inventory, generate expense purchase requisitions, if applicable, and maintain documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Interface with internal groups to assure laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration and documents conform with established practices.
- Interface with external groups to ensure design transfer activities and to manage logistics for lab supply and samples.
Qualifications & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Ability to perform work in a lab or office setting, remain standing for long periods while conducting tests,and wear personal protective equipment while handling samples (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses and gloves; all PPE provided).
- Experience in a laboratory or environmental testing setting is preferred, but not required
- Awareness of and experience with handling, storage and disposal of radiosotope would be desirable
