På grunn av økende arbeidsmengde søker vi etter Loggegeologer. Halliburtons Loggegeologer reiser til våre kunders installasjoner offshore for å utføre geologiske prøvetakinger av formasjonene under boring. Denne informasjonen blir brukt til å avgjøre hvilke bergarter det bores gjennom, topp og bunn av formasjoner, om en bestemt formasjon er nådd og andre geologiske analyser. Våre Loggegeologer bidrar også til å overvåke og vedlikeholde vårt gassutstyr, og oppdatere relevant papirarbeid som kreves for en sikker og effektiv boring.

Arbeidsoppgaver
Du vil være en del av et team som jobber skift rotasjon offshore der du samler og analyser borekaks. Hovedoppgavene vil være:

• 
  Prøvetaking av borekaks
  
• Geologisk analyse av bergartsprøver
  
• Bearbeiding av prøver for videre analyse på land
  
• Oppdatering av relevante skjema og dataprogrammer
  
• Produserer geologiske rapporter og formasjonsevalueringslogger
  
• Delta i feilsøking og drift av offshore utstyr
  
• Overvåke boreoperasjonen, komme med anbefalinger for optimalisering
  
• Assistere ved kjerneboring
  

Kvalifikasjoner

• Bachelor (Bsc) eller Master (Msc) innen Petroleum, Geologi, Geofysikk, Kjemi eller andre realfag
  
• Generell forståelse for og erfaring innenfor bruk av programvare og hardware for prosessering av data
  
• Flytende muntlig og skriftlig engelsk, fortrinnsvis også norskkunnskaper

Kandidater med et sterkt team fokus som viser gode kommunikasjonsferdigheter foretrekkes. Jobben krever klar og konsis kontakt med alle involverte parter både offshore og onshore. Halliburton is one of the pioneers within real time operations and have participated in the development of the Norwegian continental shelf since the first test well in 1966.

In order to accommodate the increasing workload we are looking for Logging Geologists in our Surface Data Logging department. Halliburton Logging Geologists travel to our customer’s installations offshore to perform geological sampling of the formations being drilled. This practice is used to determine what formation is being drilled through, where formations start and finish, if they have reached a specific formation and other geological analysis. Our Logging Geologists also help monitor our gas equipment and maintain and update relevant paperwork required for a safe and efficient drilling operation.

Job description
You will be part of a team working on a shift rotation offshore, collecting and analysis formation rock cuttings. The main tasks are:

• Collecting Samples of rock formation
  
• Geological analysis of rock samples
  
• Preparation of samples for further onshore analysis
  
• Updating of relevant paperwork and computer programs
  
• Produce geological reports and Formation Evaluation Logs
  
• Assist in operation and troubleshooting of offshore equipment
  
• Monitor the drilling operations and make recommendations for optimization
  
• Assist in coring operations
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree (BSc) or Master (MSc) in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, Science or other relevant fields.
  

• Good computer hardware and software skills
  
• Fluency in English and also preferably a Scandinavian language
  

Personal qualifications
Team oriented candidates that exhibit good communication skills will be preferred. The job relies on clear and concise contact with all parties involved in the well operation both onshore and offshore. You need to work structured and organized. The work environment is complex and hectic where you might not find answers by yourself but rather within the team
