You will work in close collaboration with our co-workers from other disciplines, technical advisors and product owners, as well as other stakeholders during the entire project execution. This role is part of our Offshore Solutions within Equipment and Solutions Division. Reports directly to the Manager E&I and Hydraulics. This position is located at our head office in Kristiansand alternatively Arendal.

Do you have experience with motion compensated / loading and oil transfer equipment, offshore wind or relateable technologies? Are you a good communicator who thrives when you work in a team? Mac Gregor is looking to hire a candidate with competence within the electrical, automation and instrumentation field to join our E&I team.
The purpose of this role as Senior Engineer E&I is to design and provide technical documentation according to the project requirements. You will follow the Mac Gregor project execution model as well as supervise external hired engineers. In this role you will design and modify equipment from existing product portfolios and make new functions and elements. Your day-to-day responsibilities will be to assist in the tender phase, read and comment on the customer specifications, highlight risks, and produce required documentation in accordance with specification. Producing required technical documentation for products and projects.

Other tasks and responsibilities:
- Responsible for delivering design on budgeted cost, time and quality. Report progress, remaining time and cost, as well as flagging deviations vs. budget and suggesting mitigating actions
- Responsible for maintaining knowledge of relevant class rules, standards and regulations for relevant products
- Give internal and external technical support

What you’ll need to succeed
- University degree (MSc / BSc) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience within electrical power and automation systems
- Able to understand and work with offshore standards (DNV, ABS, CCS, BV, ATEX, IECEx, etc)
- Relevant software experience (E3, CAD, ERP, PLM, PDM, etc) is an advantage
- Proficient in technical English, spoken and written
