About Monil

Monil is a dynamic and experienced startup, founded in 2022 by industry veterans from renowned hardware technology companies such as Prox Dynamics/Teledyne FLIR, Cognite, and Silicon Labs. From day one, scalable technology with global potential has been embedded in our DNA. Since then, we’ve expanded our team to include diverse expertise in software development, marketing, farmer success, and sales, strengthening our ability to innovate and grow.
Our first product is an electronic collar that enables farmers to monitor their cattle and create virtual fences. This innovation saves farmers significant time, money, and effort by reducing the need to search for animals and maintain physical fences. Beyond these practical benefits, our solution promotes improved soil health, boosts production, enhances animal welfare, and fundamentally transforms livestock management for farmers.
Monil has solid backing from FIRDA, Innovation Norway and a range of smaller investors. We have been field testing our first product with pilot customers for two years, and delivered our first products to customer this spring. There is a huge and proven market potential for this product and Monil is well positioned for global growth.

Job overview

Devices mounted on cattle endure tough conditions, and our goal is to set the industry standard for reliability, ensuring they perform consistently year after year. We are seeking a candidate with a strong blend of theoretical knowledge and practical expertise to help us develop products that achieve world-class quality.
As a Test Developer, you will play a key role in assessing and ensuring the quality and performance of our product. Your responsibilities will include analyzing field data to identify potential limitations and developing specialized test equipment to address them. You will collaborate closely with our mechanics, operations, and electronics teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards across all aspects of product testing.

Key responsibilities

Detective/data analysis

• Analyze collected data from our devices to look for anomalies and potential issues
• Analyze returned devices, perform root cause analysis, and maintain statistics on failure rates
• Analyze statistics from production and internal tests to confirm that we maintain correct quality

Test and production software

• Develop the software that operate our test jigs, collect and organize test data
• Develop production tests in cooperation with subcontractors
• Work together with subcontractors to develop automated assembly/test stations

Construction

• Components and instrument purchases for test equipment
• Construct test jigs for pull, push, squeeze, tear, dust, rain, sun etc., as well as for accelerated testing
  
• Participate in the process of continuous product improvement

Qualification

• Master's, Bachelor's, or equivalent degree in a relevant field (electronics, mechanics, or programming)
• Programming experience is mandatory, which can be demonstrated through education, work experience, or personal projects
• Fluent in Norwegian, both spoken and written
• 3-5 years of relevant experience is preferred, but recent graduates are encouraged to apply if they can demonstrate a strong interest or other relevant experience
• Experience from related work is an advantage, but not mandatory
