IT Assistant

Job Summary
The IT Assistant will be responsible for providing essential technical support to ensure smooth functioning of the organization's IT infrastructure. Working under the guidance of senior IT staff, the IT Assistant will assist in managing systems, providing helpdesk services, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and supporting ADB’s technical operations.
This role is ideal for a tech-savvy professional with excellent problem-solving skills and a good understanding of the unique IT needs in a global or international organization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of IT systems, network infrastructure, and related hardware/software in accordance with ADB's policies.
  • Provide first-level IT support to staff, troubleshooting issues related to desktop/laptop computers, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Ensure proper installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and applications on workstations.
  • Assist with managing user accounts, permissions, and access control in accordance with the organization’s security protocols.
  • Monitor network performance and coordinate with the IT team to ensure uninterrupted connectivity.
  • Provide technical support for remote meetings, videoconferences, and webinars, ensuring smooth communication across different ADB offices and time zones.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including backups, system updates, and patches to ensure data security and operational efficiency.
  • Document and log IT support requests, solutions, and procedures for future reference.
  • Assist in inventory management of IT assets and coordinate with vendors for procurement, repairs, and system upgrades.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and ADB's internal IT policies to recommend potential improvements.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in IT support, preferably within an international or corporate organization.
  • Strong understanding of desktop operating systems (Windows, mac OS) and office productivity software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Experience in managing network infrastructure, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS) and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Knowledge of remote support tools, troubleshooting techniques, and ITIL service management principles is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical staff.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Certification in IT-related areas such as Comp TIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  • Experience in supporting IT operations in international development institutions, NGOs, or multilateral organizations.
  • Understanding of IT compliance, data privacy regulations, and information security protocols.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Rs90,000.00 - Rs120,000.00 per month
